What are the most installed versions of Android?
Android 13 does not convince everyone despite its great qualities with 12.1% adoption. Android 9 has a slight lead with 12.3% and even if this gap is minor, it should be remembered that this version was launched in 2018. Regarding the rest of the ranking, Android 11 remains in the lead with 23.5% of installations in 3 years of existence. Here is the full ranking:

Why such disparities in the installation of Android?
As explained above, there are overlays from one manufacturer to another. Each brand deploys new versions of Android at his own pace, hence the disparities. For example, Pixel smartphones are owned by Google, hence the rapid deployment.
The situation is different for Apple, which controls the hardware and software of its devices. The iPhone is usually followed for years and the most installed version is always the most recent (at least, a large majority of the time).
