She starred in some of the most successful TV series of recent years.

Series star Anne Wersching (“24”) died at the age of 45. Her press spokesman confirmed this to the industry portal “Deadline” (it’s really called that).

The 45-year-old died of cancer. She was diagnosed in 2020 – it is not known what type of cancer it was.

One of Wersching’s best-known roles is that of “Renee Walker” in the hit series “24”. She was seen alongside actor Kiefer Sutherland (56) in a total of 35 episodes. However, she has appeared in a variety of other series throughout her career – including The Vampire Diaries, Bosch, Dallas, Charmed, CSI, and more.

Wersching’s husband, comedian and actor Stephen Full (53), published a statement on his wife’s early death. It says: “There is a big hole in the soul of this family today. But she left us funds to refill it.”

The widower about his wife: “She saw the wonderful in the simplest moment. She didn’t need music to dance. She taught us not to wait for adventure to find you. ‘Go and find it. It is everywhere.’ And we will find it.”

The director and producer of the series “24” also commemorated those who died much earlier.

Jon Cassar, 64, wrote in a statement: “My heart is broken into more pieces than I can count. Annie came into my world with an open heart and an infectious smile. She took my breath away with her great talent. Annie became more than just a co-worker, she became a true friend to me, my family and all the actors and crew who worked with her.”

Even after her cancer diagnosis in 2020, Wersching continued to film, including a prominent role in the second season of “Star Trek: Picard”. Gamers know her voice from the video game The Last of Us. There she speaks the character Tess in the original English.

Wersching leaves her husband and three children (12, 9 and 4 years old).
