The program “The Mission” is back on air with the permanent duo Johan Golden and Atle Antonsen.

For two hours, the two comrades will entertain the Norwegian people.

– This time we have chosen to have it with both Antonsen and Golden, as we have tried before. We don’t know how it will go, but we are betting that it will be successful, says Johan Golden in this year’s first “Missionen” broadcast.

– I was terribly ashamed

Golden called “The Mission” “The Leave” during Antonsen’s absence. On Friday, he suggests that it should be called the “Accident Commission”.

– I agree. In a way, I have recently taken further education. I have received the latest promotion from idiot to crown idiot, says Antonsen.

Golden wonders how Antonsen has been.

– It has gone better before, I’ll be honest and say that. I have been terribly ashamed. I have felt guilt, shame and self-loathing, he adds.

He was so ashamed that he was unable to leave the house, Antonsen continues.

– But it’s not my fault. I am far from a victim here.

Since he did not want to show himself outdoors in Oslo, after a couple of weeks he went indoors on a road trip to Copenhagen.

– There are quite a few Norwegians who travel to Copenhagen at weekends. I discovered it when I entered the door of the hotel. I got the fright again. I went into the hotel room and stayed there for four days.

When the case came out, Antonsen thought that he was going to get support from the “wrong” people.

He confirms to questions from Golden that he does not want support from the far right, but he has received it.

– I did not read those messages. I squinted and deleted everything I got in. I didn’t follow social media, but read some articles. They were not to my advantage, understandably enough, says Antonsen.

Back in the public eye

This is the first time Antonsen is back in the public eye since social debater Sumaya Jirde Ali told in November about an incident at Bar Boca on 23 October last year.

Among other things, Antonsen said that Ali was “too dark to be here”, which resulted in a police report and a case where he was investigated for hate speech.

He himself has publicly apologized and described the whole thing as a poor attempt at humour.

In the wake of the incident, Antonsen asked to be excused from the programme, but earlier this week he announced his comeback after the Attorney General dropped the case.
