The A46 was briefly closed in Düsseldorf on Saturday evening. The reason was a false alarm from the university tunnel.
After a fire alarm, the university tunnel of the A46 in Düsseldorf was closed for a short time in both directions on Saturday evening. According to the police, it was probably a false alarm.
“The fire was reported at 6:28 p.m. by the traffic tunnel control center system,” said the police control center on Saturday evening. Patrol cars moved to the tunnel but did not discover a fire or the like, the police said.
After almost 20 minutes, the police opened the tunnel to traffic again. The traffic backed up from the direction of Wuppertal around the Holthausen junction and from the direction of Neuss up to just under the Fleher Bridge.
