For Hakim Ziyech, a new chapter in his quite successful career as a professional footballer should normally have started today. On Deadline Day, Chelsea FC and Paris St. Germain agreed on a loan deal for the Moroccan international. Human error burst the change – the subsequent appeal was unsuccessful.
As ‘Téléfoot’ reports, the Ligue de Football Professionnel – LFP for short – has rejected an appeal from PSG. The Parisians presented evidence that Chelsea officials submitted false documents three times, thereby missing the deadline. The Parisians hoped for an exemption because they were not to blame.
However, the league association rejected the noble club’s attempt. In an hour-and-a-half session of the panel, it was decided that Ziyech’s loan move had not been completed on time and that the player would accordingly not receive a playing permit. Despite the agreement of all those involved and a passed medical check, the 29-year-old has to stay in London.
