This represents 33.78 percent of victims who were killed by means other than shots from a firearm or wounds with a knife, placing April as the month with the most intentional homicides with traces of torture, which for the Municipal Public Security Secretariat and the Security and Justice Board of Ciudad Juárez represents the possibility of linking these deaths with the criminal activity of human trafficking, according to statements by its owners in previous weeks.

On the other hand, during the last 12 days of April there were no such homicides, but rather the last 29 victims of this month were shot to death at different events throughout the city.

It also highlights that it was in the west and north-west where a large part of the murders in April were concentrated, leaving the northeast without cases and with two cases in the southern sector, according to the journalistic monitoring of the location by El Diario de Juárez. of violent acts.

At the state level, homicide cases dropped 31 percent, going from 203 murders in March to 140 reported this month, the lowest figure in the year, since 180 occurred in January and 184 during February.

The decrease in cases in Ciudad Juárez stands out, which had 75 homicides against the 117 cases presented the previous month. There was also a reduction in Cuauhtémoc, where nine homicides were recorded, while in January there were 10; in February 14 and another 13 in March.

Among the events that stand out in the state, is what happened in the municipality of Madera, where the dispute over clandestine logging left five people dead on April 18.

The attorney general, César Jáuregui, said that a notable containment was achieved in the number of homicides in the state, but acknowledged that the figures are still high, so coordinated operations will continue with the authorities of the three levels of government to maintain numbers down.
