The players have placed destiny 2 as one of the best games on the market, and now, Bungie has introduced a dog into its universe that you can pet.

This peculiar canine is called Archangelor Archie for short, joins the adorable ranks of Starhorse, Fallen grub babys and the ghost cat on the moon, is a robot dog who made his debut a few weeks ago in the Season of the Seraphim.

The way that Bungie designed this new companion is touching, but at the same time somewhat terrifying, as the developer detailed in his weekly blog post.

“Every season, we spend a little bit of time thinking of fun little Easter eggs, and for this season, everyone wanted to build a robot dog. But it wasn’t that easy,” Bungie explained. “After the team came up with the idea, the first question was: ‘Can I pet him?’ And we knew the answer had better be, ‘Yes!’ So we quickly ran this interesting test to confirm that ‘petting the dog’ was actually possible.”

That test involved numbers, a stroking animation, and a neon pink squatting humanoid substitute for Archie in which Bungie could test their stroking actions. In a universe filled with paracausal entities, death-worshipping alien invaders, and wish-granting dragons, this is probably one of the strangest things Bungie has shown since Xur began offering an interstellar transport boulder as a prize in Dares of Eternity. .

While Archie will be leaving HELM at the end of the season, the good news is that they will become available to more pets in Season 21, the second season of Destiny 2’s Lightfall era. Elsewhere in Destiny 2, fans of Iron Banner You can expect a less demanding grind when the PvP event returns on January 31, as Bungie is making some big changes to the reputation you’ll earn with that mode.
