Juarez City.- Agents of the Federal Ministerial Police, of the Attorney General of the Republic (FGR), fulfilled three arrest warrants this Thursday against officials of the Representation Office in Chihuahua of the National Institute of Migration, involved in the death of 40 foreign migrants and the injuries of 25 more, in events that occurred on March 27.

The National Detention Registry shows that the first to be captured was Juan Carlos MC detained in the La Plata Condominium at 11:05 am, who is the Deputy Director of Grupo Beta in Juárez.

At 12:50 p.m., Eduardo Apodaca Magallanes was arrested outside the Córdova bridge facilities, while the Local Deputy Representative in Rodrigo M. Quevedo (Palomas), Cecilia RT, was arrested at 5:47 p.m. in Puerto Palomas de Villa, municipality of Ascension, Chihuahua.

The arrests were requested from a Control judge by agents of the Federal Public Ministry of the Crime Investigation Unit for Migrants of the Attorney General of the Republic (FGR).

In the afternoon, the institution announced that it had obtained from the Federal Control Judge in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, the arrest warrants requested against the INM officials who had a direct link to the unfortunate events that occurred on March 27.

The Federal Criminal Justice Center in the State of Chihuahua, with residence in Ciudad Juárez, granted the Prosecutor’s Office its summons request, which is contemplated by the Law, to carry out the initial hearings to formulate the accusation of Antonio “N” and Francisco “N”, indicating as dates the next April 20 and 21, respectively.

In these hearings, the accusations and the test data obtained by the FGR will be known.
