An unknown person first broke open a shed in the Marquardt district of Potsdam on Tuesday, then wanted to set another shed on fire. The police announced on Wednesday.
For this he used a canister which, according to the police, he had found in the first building. A witness noticed the perpetrator and informed the emergency services.
Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire and prevented the fire from spreading to an empty building near the shed. The resulting property damage amounts to around 5000 euros. The criminal police secured evidence and are now investigating arson.
