Once used as a concert hall – now great art is moving in: The spectacular show “Phoenix des Lumières” is moving to the blast furnace in Dortmund.

Huge picture walls, space-filling art projections – and the spectators right in the middle: Beim Art spectacle “Phoenix des Lumières” on Phoenix West art fans and families can sink into the pictures. The exhibition opens on Saturday (January 28, 2023) in the former Warsteiner Music Hall in Dortmund-Hörde.

The mega show starts with Gustav Klimt and Friedensreich Hundertwasser. Around for an hour the “loop” lasts, in which the moving paintings are alternately projected onto the high walls. The floor is also included. If you want to be there, you have to decide on a time. the Tickets per time slot are limited so that all guests have enough space to sink. And of course for insta pics – then the “Phoenix des Lumières” is perfect for that: Standing in the middle of the work of art and being part of the large world of images makes a difference! Also for children it never gets boring.

But Klimt and Hundertwasser are not everything: On the 5600 square meter projection surfaces in the more than 13 meter high Phoenix Hall, this is also running Show “Journey” of a Turkish art studio. Huge digital iconstorms hit the audience – an experimental journey through the world of photons, the smallest unit of light, through the layers of the eye to the brain.






Journey, Klimt and Hundertwasser are just that preludeexplained Organizer culturespace. The French company wants to remain in Dortmund permanently with “Phoenix des Lumières”, it asserts – several million euros have flowed into the renovation of the Phoenixhalle. It remains to be seen whether the number of visitors will bear that out.
