For much of the 80s and early 90s, the Commodore Amiga was a true power house when it came to graphics and design, something that also attracted a lot of early digital artists to the platform. One of the most famous works from the era is Jack Haeger’s ‘Four-Byte Burger’. A wonderfully charming, cheese-filled piece of design that is unfortunately lost to time. The image was simply never saved and the only existing image of the original is in the form of a screenshot in a book dedicated to Haeger’s art.

But thanks to Youtuber Ahoy, a man full of talent to say the least whose deep dives into all sorts of subjects are always worth your time has now restored order by recreating the iconic burger pixel by pixel. The whole process and the huge amount of work behind it can be followed in his video which you should all check out here.

What classic digital artworks or artists make your heart skip a beat?
