A petition to the Bundestag, which calls for the simplification of regulations and laws relating to balcony power plants, has received more than 85,000 signatures. The hype surrounding small photovoltaic systems for balconies, canopies, etc. seems unbroken and the regulatory expansion from 600 to 800 watts as an exemption limit is in sight.

To make it easier for you to get started, our new special issue is now available c’t Solarstrom-Guide. On 124 pages you will find all the important basics about small and large photovoltaic systems. The booklet tells you how to select and combine photovoltaic modules and inverters instead of buying any and often more expensive complete set.

So that you can find out how much your mini solar system produces, we will also go into the subject of evaluation. Practical instructions such as for OpenDTU – an open source project for Hoymiles inverters – help you to get the data from your inverter inexpensively and without fiddling around.
