Asking for $7 million for Stephen Sondheim's former home

The famous writer and composer Stephen Sondheim lived for several decades in a house located in Turtle Bay GardensManhattan, which has just entered the real estate market at a cost of $7 million.

It is known that Sondheim paid the down payment on this house thanks to the royalties generated by one of his greatest Broadway hits: ‘Gypsy’. In an interview with Pamela Hanlon, she even confessed that she rented out three of the seven floors of the property and with that she was able to pay the mortgage.

Remained faithful to the same residence from the 60s until he died in 2021although it is known that he was not in New York but in Roxbury, Connecticut, on the day of his death.

The residence is located on a corner and occupies a 2,000 square foot lot. The house as such has an extension of 5,690 square feet distributed in seven floors.

The interior is extremely attractive. thanks to its original style from the beginning of the 19th century. Among those highlights are the wrought iron front door, chevron-patterned hardwood floors, veil-vaulted wood-paneled foyer, large floor-to-ceiling windows and more.
