Javier and Stefan Reif saved the life of a resident of the house that was on fire on Wednesday afternoon.
A roof fire in Bregenz kept the emergency services in check on Wednesday afternoon. Javier was one of the first to arrive, working on the construction site next door, and became a hero.
Flames and thick clouds of smoke – the roof truss of a residential building in Bregenz became the scene of a large-scale rescue operation. A resident could no longer leave the house, and the emergency services could no longer come to him. Excavator driver Javier and city policeman Stefan Reif were only able to rescue the man from the outside with an excavator shovel.
The man was taken to the hospital.
