The National Weather Service confirmed that an EF-1 tornado touched down Saturday night in New England.
According to the SMN, the tornado struck between the Foxboro and Easton town lines.
Its maximum wind reached 105 mph and the length and width of the platform was 400 yards and 100 yards respectively.
This is the fifth tornado to hit New England in July.
The NWS was surveying the area Sunday morning and concluded that straight-line or microgust winds caused wind damage in Brockton/East Bridgewater and parts of Easton, Massachusetts.
The survey ranged from Chaplin to Killingly in Connecticut and from Easton to West Bridgewater in Massachusetts.
