However, it looked a bit shaky, after the premiere when the numbers didn’t quite reach the forecast, but with the long holiday and settled Christmas stress, people have flocked to the cinemas to see the sequel to the most successful film of all time. 20 billion it needs to record, according to Cameron himself, to go around and with over 14 billion in the coffers already after three weeks, it undeniably looks as if the goal will be met. According to Variety however, “only” 15 billion will be enough to make a profit, which in that case will most likely happen before the end of the week.
As for 20 billion in revenue, only five films have managed to reach that milestone; Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Titanic and just Avatar. Now there are many indications that Avatar: The Way of Water will soon join this exclusive crowd.
