AVM is now sending out the major function update 7.50 for the first FritzRepeater. The first devices should already have the new FritzOS version and thus a number of new features. Among other things, the update launches dynamic smart repeating.

This has been announced by the Internet specialist AVM. At the start of the new year, AVM is really stepping up its game and has now released the first FritzOS 7.50 update for the FritzRepeater 2400.

After the long beta test phase, the time has now come: users of the additional device will have been waiting for the new version, because it brings a multitude of new functions, improvements and also some bug fixes. Among other things, dynamic smart repeating was used to ensure better performance in the home network. In addition, improved radar detection and WLAN auto-channel function, a redesigned wizard for setup and for changing the type of access and much more. We have summarized the highlights from the release notes at the end of the post. Tips for the update and information about the new version can be found directly at AVM and in the update notifications. The update is recommended to all users of the new repeater.

The update is automatically offered gradually, but can also be triggered manually. Updates can easily be carried out via the online user interface. To do this, call up “fritz.box”, “fritz.powerline” or “fritz.repeater”. There you will find the menu item Assistants/ “Update” or “Update firmware” and follow the instructions.

However, AVM writes that they also update the security functions with every new FritzOS update and that available updates should therefore be carried out as quickly as possible.
