While we eagerly await the imminent announcement of the next installment in the Mortal Kombat saga, former Global Brand Manager at Warner Bros. Matt Welsh shared some exciting numbers on his Linkedin page.

According to Welsh, the latest installation in the Mortal Kombat series, numero 11, has generated over 500 million dollars in profit, corresponding to approximately five billion kroner. In terms of numbers, Mortal Kombat 11 was the third best-selling fighting game through the ages in July last year, with around 15 million copies under its belt. In first place was found Super Smash Bros. Ultimate (over 30 million copies) and in second place at the time was Street Fighter II with 15.5 million copies – now most likely beaten by Scorpion, Liu Kang, Sub-Zero and the gang.

Isn’t it time for another Mortal Kombat soon?
