The 80th Golden Globes ceremony: On Wednesday night, the Foreign Press Association (HFPA) announced the award winners in Beverly Hills 27 film and television categories known. The US broadcaster NBC broadcast the show live.

The big winner is star director Steven Spielberg (76). his movie”The Fabelmanstriumphed for Best Drama Motion, beating out James Cameron’s Avatar: The Way of Water, Elvis, Tár and Top Gun: Maverick. Spielberg also won the award for his autobiographical film about his childhood and youth the best direction.

Three Golden Globes for “The Banshees of Inisherin”

The film “The Banshees of Inisherin” received three awards Martin McDonagh (“Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri”). The film won the Comedy/Musical category, Colin Farrell took the Comedy Leading Actor award, and director-writer McDonagh accepted the Best Screenplay trophy. Michelle Yeoh won the award for Lead Actress in the sci-fi comedy Everything Everywhere All at Once.

No Golden Globe for German anti-war film “Nothing New in the West”

The German anti-war film “Nothing New in the West” by Director Edward Berger came up empty. “Argentina, 1985” won the prize in the category “Best Non-English Language Film” in the South American country. Santiago Mitre directed it. The film describes the story of two Argentine prosecutors who took action in 1985 against those responsible for the bloody military dictatorship (1976-1983). “Nothing new in the West” is also Germany’s Oscar candidate on March 12th.


In January 2022, NBC canceled traditional TV broadcasts. Nominees stayed away from the event, the names of the winners had only been announced via the HFPA association’s social media accounts.
