Badiraguato, Sinaloa, April 14, 2023.- Governor Rubén Rocha Moya inaugurated the first stage of the Badiraguato boardwalk, a work that will become the pride of the residents of this municipal seat, and that thanks to the beautification of his face urbanization and improvement of its infrastructure, will soon be able to form part of the catalog of Stately Towns of the federal Ministry of Tourism.

The state president returned to his birth municipality to, in addition to delivering this long-awaited work such as the boardwalk, inaugurate a street in the El Pueblito neighborhood, next to the municipal president, José Paz López Elenes; the Secretary General of the Government, Enrique Inzunza Cázarez, also a native of Batequitas, Badiraguato; and in the company of the Secretary of Public Works, José Luis Zavala Cabanillas.

It should be noted that the first stage of the boardwalk represented an investment of 44 million pesos, and before the end of this year the second phase will continue, which will connect it with the entrance to Badiraguato, at the height of El Camichín, right at the arch of welcome, where works are currently being carried out to expand the access boulevard.

“This boardwalk is going to give Badiraguato a lot of life, this is going to be an area for recreation, for a walk, for pride for a municipal head city that will soon be a Stately Town. People from outside will have to come to Badiraguato”, said the governor moments before handing over this modern tourist work.

In this regard, the Secretary of Public Works, Zavala Cabanillas, reported that the length of this first stage of the boardwalk is 700 meters, it consists of three lanes per side with a central ridge, and a sidewalk three meters wide. In addition, its two access roads were built, such as the extensions of Héctor R. Olea and Eliseo Quintero streets.

He also explained that to ensure that it is not demolished by the rising river, the boardwalk was built on an embankment wall 30 meters wide by 5 meters high, which will support avenues of up to 1,200 cubic meters per second.

Precisely, when speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Mr. Joel Avilés López thanked this work, which on the one hand beautifies the environment, but the most important thing is that it will prevent future flooding in the lower part of the municipal seat, which in the past charged human lives.

“This work for us represents something very important, that with this we will no longer have floods. We lived a very strong one in 1980 where there were victims, it is something that we remember and that remains present because I lived it personally. With this, it will give us a tourist, economic impact, it beautifies our town, that is why I applaud this great work, ”said the man, who has his house right on the river bank.

For his part, Mayor José Paz López Elenes considered this moment historic and stated that the Badiraguato boardwalk is a work to be boasted about. “I want to thank Governor Rocha for all the work we are doing as a team, I have no doubt that teamwork always generates very good results.”

Previously, the state governor and the municipal president inaugurated El Nogal street, in the El Pueblito neighborhood, where 1 million 780 thousand pesos were invested, built of hydraulic concrete, with led public lighting, sidewalks and fittings.

Here, Governor Rocha specified that works like this are carried out in all municipalities, as he recalled that 48 hours ago he also delivered three other paved streets in various neighborhoods of Culiacán.

The state president took the opportunity to announce that the Badiraguato-Guadalupe y Calvo, Chihuahua highway is about to be inaugurated, since the 13 kilometers that correspond to Sinaloa will be completed in mid-May, and President Andrés Manuel López Obrador has already told him that he will come to inaugurate it

Governor Rocha was also accompanied on this work tour of Badiraguato by the president of the Sinaloa DIF System, Eneyda Rocha Ruiz; the local deputy for this municipality, Verónica Avilés Rochín; local deputy Feliciano Valle Sandoval, and the president of the Sinaloa Regional Livestock Union, Régulo Terraza Romero, and the president of the Badiraguato Local Livestock Association, Armida Cázarez Medina.
