An employee of a nursery in Bar-le-Duc has been indicted for possession and acquisition of child pornography, the Epinal prosecution announced on Friday, where the file has been relocated.
The agent had been hired for several months on an integration contract at the Elisa crèche, an establishment which welcomes around fifty children aged from two and a half months to five years old. The nursery had been closed at the end of last week, officially on the grounds of an epidemic of gastroenteritis.

The employee concerned “has been indicted on counts of detention and acquisition of child pornography images of minors”, announced in a press release Frédéric Nahon, public prosecutor of Épinal.
“He was placed under judicial control with a ban on carrying out activities involving habitual contact with minors and obligation of care,” he added.

The person concerned was also indicted on counts of rape and sexual assault on minors which were allegedly committed in 2016 “in a strictly family setting”, according to the press release.
“This separate procedure, initially dismissed in 2017, was communicated by the Bar-le-Duc prosecution in the light of the new facts”, according to the prosecutor of Epinal. “The interested party contests all the facts”, specified Frédéric Nahon, adding that the investigations would relate in particular to the expertise of a seized computer.
80 child pornography photos found
The affair broke out following an anonymous denunciation to the departmental council of the Meuse, the public prosecutor of Bar-le-Duc, Sofian Saboulard, told AFP on Thursday. The national gendarmerie had searched the home of the employee in question.
“On a family computer were found just under 80 child pornography photos,” said Sofian Saboulard.
He also clarified that these photos had obviously been deleted on an undetermined date.
Sofian Saboulard had explained that he had asked that another prosecutor’s office be seized of the case “because it is a crèche which is in the center of Bar-le-Duc and there are children from police, administrative and judicial personnel who are in this crèche”.
