FC Barcelona are still worried about the transfer of full-back Julián Araujo (21) from LA Galaxy. As Barça sporting director Amateur Alemany revealed to ‘Movistar’, a technical error was to blame for missing the registration deadline.
“We were unable to sign Julián Araujo in time due to a computer error.” According to Alemany, the delay was minimal, so that FIFA could still decide in favor of the Blaugrana: “It was 18 seconds. I don’t know what FIFA will do.”
“But we must also not forget that he was a player for our reserves”, soothed the club official. Until 2018, Araujo was active for the Barça Academy in Arizona. Alemany also commented on the reports of interest in World Cup star Sofyan Amrabat (26) from Fiorentina: “We looked at many options on the market, Amrabat is one of them. We will see.”
