Lazio captain Ciro Immobile remained hospitalized on Sunday after his vehicle collided with a tram.

Immobile was driving with his family Sunday morning when he collided with a tram in Rome. The front of the car was completely destroyed.

“The tram ran the red light,” the Italy and Lazio striker said when interviewed after the accident.

He added that only his arm hurt. Lazio later reported that the 33-year-old suffered a fractured rib and spinal trauma and that he remained under observation.

Immobile is expected to miss the upcoming matches against Torino and Inter Milan. He has scored 10 goals this season, missing a penalty in Lazio’s 3-0 win away to Spezia on Friday.

Lazio is in second place in Serie A, well profiled to qualify for the next edition of the Champions League, although it is 14 points behind the leader Napoli.
