Battlefield 2042 has just welcomed its version 4.2.0, the opportunity to take advantage of the new version of a map, but also to take advantage of welcome features.

The Redesign of Discharge

This update thus emphasizes the Dump map by making it more pleasant for infantry. For this, the studio has added new flags while others have been moved. Roads are also appearing on the battlefield to allow more variety in the clashes.

Recovery areas

What was previously an open field in the northwest of the map has become the Salvage Yard. Car wrecks not only fit into the Landfill theme, but they also provide soldiers with multiple cover options to outwit heavy vehicles wandering around the area. Several destructible houses located on the outskirts of the flag can be used as observation points, at the risk of being buried under the rubble.

Antenna

Although it is already an existing flag, we moved this flag point closer to the flooded village located in the northern region of the map. This new location better connects the northern area of the map (the green area) to the southern area (the beach). We reinforced the idea of a military occupation by adding various military means and we improved the layout by populating the combat space with some additional structures. You can also climb on the antenna and, from there, descend by parachute or Wingsuit to the Colossus or the Village.

Hull dismantled

A destroyed convoy and rows of military blankets now reinforce the front lines of this flag. The smoke from the convoy should conceal approaching players from snipers who may be waiting in the upper floors of the hull. The Heart of the Flag also got some military cover improvements, making it easier for infantry to advance. Finally, we closed off part of the side of the hull that faces the Colossus to limit frequent sniper fire from the deck of the ship towards this flag.

The other changes

In addition to this major change, this update brings a few fixes that will improve the overall usability of the field experience
