An armed man was arrested near a theater that was going to host the Miss Belgium election. “He is a 46-year-old man who was not known to the Belgian police and intelligence services. He was arrested late Saturday afternoon, driving his vehicle, with a gun and a bulletproof vest. He was going to the Miss Belgium party, which was taking place in La Panne, a border town with France, very close to Dunkirk.explains Julien Gasparutto, live from Brussels (Belgium).

According to the Federal Prosecutor’s Office, it is indeed an attack that was foiled. “The terrorist track seems excluded at this stage. It would be a man who suffers from psychological problems and who obviously had no connection with the people present at this evening. The theater which hosted the competition was evacuated, causing some panic. Once the suspect was arrested, the evening was able to start, with, inevitably, a lot of tension in the room”, concludes the journalist.
