Queen Elizabeth II was well known for her great sense of humour. In fact, as her biographer recalls, she had a lot more to offer. He still sheds tears when he thinks of a meeting with the monarch where she showcased her unexpected talent.

London – She bit into a sandwich at a legendary tea time with Paddington Bear, “jumped” from the helicopter into the Olympic stadium with Daniel Craig as James Bond in 2012, played a commercial for the sake of grandson Prince Harry for the Invictus Games and, by the way, Barack Obama (61) together family on the wall Queen Elizabeth II (96, † 2022) showed great acting talent, but of course the Queen of England cannot be the greatest showgirl in the British Isles at the same time. She apparently had what it takes, as her biographer Gyles Brandreth (74) recalls in his memory of an impressive meeting with her.

Queen Elizabeth II apparently played the air ukulele very well

In a new interview with the Yours Magazine told the late monarch’s biographer loudly hellomagazin.com the details of a very entertaining meeting he had with the Queen years ago, ahead of his book Elizabeth: An Intimate Portrait, at which she showcased an unexpected talent. “She once played me George Formby’s “‘When I’m Cleaning Windows’ while strumming an imaginary ukulele!”

Speaking of which, Elizabeth II went on to say that she was inspired by the famous female impersonator Florence Desmond (87 †1993), who came to Windsor Castle during the war to entertain the royal family. “She was an incredible impersonator,” Gyles attested to the regent. She could also mimic all sorts of regional accentscontinues the writer and presenter.

Countless anecdotes are reminiscent of Queen Elizabeth II.

On her way to Balmoral Castle in Scotland, the Queen once spotted a small shop by the side of the road and curiously entered. The saleswoman looked at her in disbelief: “You look extremely like the Queen.” Elizabeth II replied: “Oh, how reassuring!”

Another time, the Queen decided without further ado to order a picnic basket from a large department store over the phone. When she gave her name and address, she was met with disbelief; she was thought to be a prankster. Only an inquiry at Buckingham Palace revealed that the Queen really had picked up the phone herself.

Elizabeth always got on well with her mother. But quarrels happen in the best of families. And so the following dialogue between the two was overheard before a theater premiere in London’s West End. “Who do you actually think you are?” asked Queen Mum (101, † 2002). The answer was confident: “The Queen, Mama, the Queen.”

The Queen has also performed for close friends and family, her biographer reports

The Queen enjoyed hanging out with her close friends and family, as well as performing on her own, Gyles claims. His fascination with her lasted several decades until she left for Balmoral, from where she never returned. The book, which is due to be published in mid-April, reveals that the queen suffered from “lack of energy” after the death of her husband in 2021 and liked to watch the crime series “Line of Duty” in her free time.

There was no sign of this in their last big appearances. The fact is that her acting talent has certainly made it possible to go down in history as the longest-serving monarch. Regardless of the biographical work, many encounters – as reported by the actress Kate Winslet (47) – testify to the surprising talent of Elizabeth II and her ability to say the right thing at the right moment.
