The stock markets of Mexico they closed the midweek session with slight gains. Local stock indices advanced contrary to their United States peers, in a market attentive to the start of the reporting season for the fourth quarter of 2022.
The leading index S&P/BMV CPI of the Mexican stock exchange (BMV), which groups the 35 most liquid shares in the domestic market, gained 0.17% to 53,218.83 units. The FTSE BIVAof the Institutional Stock Market (Biva), rose 0.07% to 1,111.54 units.
Within the benchmark, most components ended the session in positive territory, with 21 stocks in the green and 13 in the red. The best performances were from Volaris, with a gain of 2.69%, and Grupo Televisa, which rose 2.54 percent.
With the movement observed this Wednesday, the stock market accumulates an advance of almost 10% in 2023, against a record of 48,463.86 units at the end of 2022. In this way, the local market continues among the best in the world so far this new year .
