Finally something concrete for the Borderlands movie. Stolen footage from the shoot gives us a first look at the much-loved player character: Lilith.
The 5-star Borderlands movie cast has been called in to re-film scenes. After an unconvincing first test screening last November, the adaptation of Gearbox’s craziest license must be touched up. For two weeks, Eli Roth leaves his place to Tim Miller (Deadpool) to finish the feature film once and for all. The opportunity to discover the first stolen images of the shooting, revealing a glimpse of Cate Blanchett in Lilith.

Back to Pandora for Cate Blanchett, Kevin Hart, Jamie Lee Curtis and the rest of the little band. The Borderlands movie is currently filming its final scenes in hopes of better convincing fans by the time it’s normally scheduled for release this year, hopefully. For now, the adaptation has not yet come to light. A privileged few had been able to discover a trailer in advance, but the first images obviously did not convince. The actors were called back to refilm several scenes over two weeks. A few images from the shoot have leaked, revealing a brief glimpse of what Lilith, embodied by Cate Blanchettwill look like in the movie Borderlands.
DailyMail has indeed shared photos showing the actress in a black Cyberpunk outfit and with the red hair so characteristic of the mermaid. This is the first time we’ve seen what a character will actually look like. Gearbox had previously communicated on the film Borderlands from silhouettes against the light presaging that fidelity was at the rendezvous. Following these shots, many fans expressed their disenchantment, citing the lack of resemblance between the heroine’s more colorful outfit. “It looks like a low-cost cosplay” comments for example a user.
As a reminder, the film Borderlands is written by Craig Mazin, to whom we owe the current box: the series The Last of Us. We will follow the misadventures of the emblematic characters of the license including Roland (Kevin Hart), Tiny Tina ( Ariana Greenblatt), Tannis (Jamie Lee Curtis), Krieg (Florian Munteanu), Claptrap (Jack Black) and of course Lilith (Cate Blanchett).
