Four people were injured, some seriously, in a car accident on the A2 on Saturday morning. According to the police, two cars collided between the Bottrop triangle and the Gladbeck-Ellinghorst junction for previously unknown reasons.

As of this morning, the police had no information on the cause of the accident. Two of the occupants were slightly injured, two seriously, according to the responsible highway police in Münster.

Two of the three lanes at the accident site in the direction of Hanover were closed for about an hour, the Bottrop fire department reported. A long traffic jam formed.






Accident on A2: Three people came to hospitals

The alarm was received by the fire brigade at 8:16 a.m., it said – via a smartwatch from one of the people in the vehicles.


Three injured were taken to hospitals. At 9:20 a.m., the fire department reported the operation as over. She was on site with 25 members of the professional fire brigade and the Fuhlenbrock volunteer fire brigade.
