Boys on a residential balcony would have been the target of an armed attack; a third was injured

Two teenagers, a girl and a boy, were the apparent target of an armed attack at a Bridgeton home on Sunday night in New Jersey.

It was reported that the gunman or gunmen opened fire, almost point blank, when the minors, ages 16 and 17, were sharing on the balcony of a house in the 100 block of Oxford Street after 11:40 p.m.

A third minor was injured by a bullet for being with the pair near the place. The latter was transported to Cooper University Hospital in Camden in stable condition.

So far the reason for the shooting is unknown, but the investigation is still active.

Bridgeton Police Chief Michael Gaimari said in a written communication posted on Facebook that officers responded to 911 calls and the violent event is believed to have been intentional, therefore minors were targeted.
