They repair a minor's room after a vehicle accident that destroyed it

SELMA, California – A driver lost control of her vehicle early on May 28 and crashed into a house on Dinuba Street, destroying little Penelope’s bedroom.

In a community effort the girl’s room was repaired and finished this weekend. The City of Selma Fire, Police and Recreation Departments participated to make this possible.

The non-profit organization Brighter Tomorrow also added to the decoration of Penelope’s room, who together smiled to give her space back.

That morning, fortunately, the minor was not sleeping in her bedroom, her mother Elizabeth Pérez told Telemundo Fresno.

“I had my daughter with me and I jumped on her. I hugged her and asked God to protect us,” said the young mother at the time.

The minor was sad to see her room in pieces, Elizabeth said. “Her TV, her toys, everything was destroyed. She was crying, poor thing, sad, she told me “mommy, my room.” I told her, yes, my love, I can buy you all those things again, but not you.”
