The Government of Brazil reported this Wednesday morning that it detected new activity by coup groups calling for demonstrations at 6:00 p.m. in Brasilia and in the capitals of the entire country.
For this reason, four days after the ferocious coup attempt with the seizure of Congress, the Supreme Court and the Planalto Presidential Palace, the Government decided to reinforce security, journalist Marcelo Claudio reported on AM750 from Brazil.
This is a big difference compared to what happened on Sunday, where it is believed that there was complicity between the protesters and the security forces, for which the government in Brasilia intervened and the command of those in charge of the police was changed.
Call: “Mega national demonstration for the resumption of power”
An image is circulating on social networks that, under the title “National mega-demonstration for the resumption of power”, calls for a rally in the Brazilian capitals against President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.
“Among other measures, the security of all the routes that arrive in Brasilia was reinforced and there are federal troops arriving at the gate of the 3 palaces,” added Marcelo Claudio. And he clarified: “As there is federal intervention, no special decree is needed for the armed forces to act.”
In addition, the military in all states have been informed and are on alert. Pending a massive mobilization, the Rio de Janeiro municipality suspended the days off and vacations for all guards.
This Wednesday, according to reports, the call was made again through social networks, where a “National Mega Demonstration for the Resumption of Power” was announced. In addition, another difference with respect to what happened on Sunday has to do with the fact that the call is to take all the capitals of the country.
Given the call for this Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. in all the capitals of the country, the attorney general of the General Attorney’s Office of the Union (AGU), Jorge Messias, asked the Supreme Court of Justice to act.
For the official, the call constitutes “a new attempt to attack the democratic rule of law, which must be safeguarded and protected.”
