Boris Pistorius is now expected to turn things around in the shortest possible time. But a new coach and fresh money don’t reliably make a champion out of a relegation candidate, even in football. The newcomer to the Bendler Block has a long, hard road ahead of him. It is correct that he is breaking up the entrenched structures in the army command without regard to hierarchies. He will not be able to please everyone, there will be hurt feelings, criticism and disappointments. But given the size of the task, it cannot be avoided.
