Sebastian Kehl got things done in the winter transfer window. With full-back Julian Ryerson (25/Union Berlin) and winger Julien Duranville (16/RSC Anderlecht), two new players came for 13.5 million euros. Thorgan Hazard (29) moved to PSV Eindhoven and Youssoufa Moukoko (18) extended his contract after long negotiations.
Now more work is waiting for Kehl. Decisions about the future of long-established players with expiring contracts such as Mats Hummels (34), Marco Reus (33), Mahmoud Dahoud (27) and Raphaël Guerreiro (29) are pending. In general, the bloated squad must definitely be reduced in summer. In addition, the sale of the courted Jew Bellingham (19) will become an increasingly important topic.

And yet new players should also come. Kehl already has two players on the line. Ramy Bensebaini (27) is expected to come from Borussia Mönchengladbach on a free transfer and replace Guerreiro at left-back. There have been several reports of an (imminent) agreement.

Dortmund wants to bring in the 18-year-old Iván Fresneda for the opposite side of defence. According to ‘The Athletic’, BVB has already agreed with Real Valladolid on a fee of 15 million euros including bonuses. The problem: Arsenal FC also negotiated these conditions with the Spanish first division club. So Fresneda is free to choose where he wants to play from the summer.
