The first images of the Seagull were revealed by the Ministry of Industry and Information of the Chinese government, as well as the basic specifications of the model. The BYD Seagull is somewhat reminiscent of the D1, a model developed for app cars that already runs in São Paulo, and is a car positioned in the entry-level segment.
According to records released by the Chinese government, the Seagull is 3.78 meters long, 1.71 m wide and 1.54 m high, in addition to a wheelbase of 2.50 meters. The weight, according to the Ministry of Industry, is between 1.16 and 1.24 tons. Dimensions are slightly larger than competitors.

BYD Seagull engine and range
The first information about the engine and autonomy confirm that the BYD Seagull will indeed be a simpler car than the already presented Tan, Han and Song Plus DM-i. Despite sharing the same type of battery – Blade -, the engine will be more modest, and will deliver a maximum power of 75 horsepower.
Regarding the running capacity per charge, the information has not been confirmed, but it is speculated that the BYD Seagull will have a 30.7 kWh battery under the hood. If the specification is confirmed, it will be similar to the battery that equips the JAC E-JS1, and which gives the Chinese compact electric range of 302 kilometers per charge.
How much will the BYD Seagull cost?
The BYD Seagull will hit the Chinese market with prices starting at 60,000 yuan, which is equivalent to R$ 45,300 in direct conversion, without taxes or import fees.
If it really comes to Brazil, the expectation is that it will arrive at a price below the Dolphin, around R$ 140,000.
