It’s time to replace the cartridges with dice. Activision and Arcane Wonders have just announced that Call of Duty will be launched as a board game via Kickstarter this fall. A faithful representation of the popular game series is promised with several iconic maps and characters as well as a game mechanic that is described as a combination between tactical planning and intense battles. Arcane Wonder’s Bryan Pope had the following to say about the announcement:
“We’re thrilled to be partnering with Activision to bring the Call of Duty franchise to the tabletop. As life-long COD fans, we’ve worked hard to capture the scope, stakes, and sheer intensity of the video games in ways that COD fans and board gamers new and old will love. We’re looking forward to bringing the unforgettable fun and competitive frenzy of COD to game night for years to come.”
A trailer for the board game is available to check out here and if all goes well, it will get a global release sometime in 2024.
