Night to Friday Norwegian time, Priscilla Presley could confirm to the magazine People that her daughter, Lisa Marie Presley, had passed away.
She lived to be 54 years old.
Presley was taken to hospital after a possible cardiac arrest on Thursday, sources say TMZ.
No reliable source has yet confirmed the cause of death.
This has left a celebrity world in mourning.
“Completely destroyed”
Actor Tom Hanks, who plays Elvis Presley’s manager Colonel Tom Parker in the film about Elvis, has honored Lisa Marie Presley with a photo on Instagram.
Underneath the picture he writes:
“We are devastated by the loss of Lisa Marie Presley. Completely destroyed…”, and signs with his own and his wife’s name.
Actor John Travolta has also taken to Instagram to express his grief.
“I will miss you, but I know I will see you again. My love and heart goes out to Riley, Priscilla, Harper and Finley,” Travolta wrote under a photo of Presley on Instagram.
“I am heartbroken”
The British artist Billy Idol writes on Twitter that it was sad to receive the news of Presley’s passing.
“She was very loving to me, in Memphis in the ’90s, she gave me a view of private areas of Graceland, which was very special. She was lovely and we performed together at NYFW in the early 2000s. Rest in peace”.

Actress Leah Remini, known from among others The King of Queens, has also taken to Twitter to honor Presley.
“I am devastated by the passing of Lisa Marie Presley. Lisa did not have an easy life, as some might think. May she rest in peace, rest with her son and father now. Her mother Priscilla and her three daughters, Riley, Finley and Harper, are in my prayers.”

“My heart breaks for you”
Artist P!nk also shares a post, following her friend’s passing.
In 2005, Presley revealed that she was in the studio with Pink, and later that year they released the single “Shine”. After the collaboration, they were several times photographed together at various events.
She starts the post by saying that it hurts her heart to lose her friend, before she pours in words of praise.
“My heart breaks for you and your beautiful family and children. The world lost a rare gem today. May your soul rest in peace, friend,” she concludes the post with.
