“I wish you love, happiness, and above all, a lot of health,” said Celine Dion this Saturday.
The singer is experiencing significant health issues herself and this is her first on-camera message since announcing her “very rare neurological disorder” on December 8.
Postponement of his European tour
In a video of almost five minutes posted on Instagram, in French and in English, the Quebec star, visibly very moved, said that he had “health problems for a long time” and had to postpone the start of the European dates of his tour again, scheduled for February.
“Recently, I was diagnosed with a very rare neurological disorder called ‘stiff-person syndrome’,” she explained.
This disorder, which is characterized in particular by progressive muscular rigidity, causes Celine Dion to have difficulty walking and prevents her from “using (her) vocal cords” as she would like.
“We don’t yet know everything about this rare disease, but we now know that it is the cause of the muscle spasms I suffer from,” added the singer.
