Due to extensive renovation work, the Paris Center Pompidou will now close from the end of 2025 to 2030. As the cultural and art institution confirmed today, the modernization costs are estimated at around 262 million euros.

The closure was originally planned from the end of 2023 to 2026/2027. However, it was postponed due to the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. The works include the removal of asbestos and the installation of new elevators.

The Center Pompidou houses, among other things, a museum of modern art and a library. It was designed by architects Renzo Piano and Richard Rogers at the initiative of former French President Georges Pompidou and opened on January 31, 1977.
