Taking advantage of CES 2023, HyperX presented the Clutch Gladiate, its first controller for Xbox. Designed for enthusiasts, the novelty promises to offer comfort and the numerous features expected from an accessory in the category, such as the possibility of adjusting the height of activation of the triggers. In addition to it, the brand also unveiled the second generation of the popular Pulsefire Haste mouse, and inaugurated its customization service for peripherals, the HX3D.

HyperX Clutch Gladiate is focused on enthusiasts

The first of the novelties is the HyperX Clutch Gladiate, the company’s first controller developed for Xbox. The accessory is officially licensed and can be used on Xbox One, Xbox Series or PC, and promises a “comfortable and secure grip” due to the shape and use of textured handles. With a focus on more enthusiastic players, the release features features such as reprogrammable rear buttons and triggers with height adjustment, allowing the button to be pressed more or less quickly.

According to the company, the controller is also shipped with dual vibration motors for “immersive and intuitive force feedback”, and features a 3.5mm P2 jack for use with headsets. The connection is exclusively made by wire, through a USB-C cable, a feature that should reduce command delays. The HyperX Clutch Gladiate is expected to hit the global market in March, with a suggested retail price of US$34.99 (~R$185). At the moment, there is no forecast of price and availability in Brazil.

HyperX introduces Pulsefire Haste 2 mice

Also during CES, one of HyperX’s most popular mice received a new generation with the launch of Pulsefire Haste 2. Available in wired and wireless versions, the peripheral gained a revamped look that abandons the predecessor’s openings without compromising weight — the novelty is curiously 6 grams lighter than the first Pulsefire Rod, reaching 53 grams (62 grams in the wireless version).

The family has also been improved with the ability to polling rate (the number of times per second that the device sends information to the PC) of 8,000 Hz, one of the fastest rates on the market, which puts it on the same level as the Razer Viper 8KHz, plus the new HyperX 26K sensor which, as the name suggests, supports resolutions up to 26,000 DPI. In addition, the switches have been another updated aspect, now promising a lifespan of 100 million clicks, while the base is composed of PTFE Teflon for better slide.

In the wired version, the Pulsefire Rod 2 uses a HyperFlex 2 cable, coated with fabric and with adjustments that would make it ready to offer greater freedom and durability. The wireless model, on the other hand, allows connection via Bluetooth or a 2.4 GHz dongle, and promises up to 100 hours of autonomy. Both are managed by HyperX NGENUITY software, where you can configure RGB lighting, resolution, polling rate, macro keys and more.

The new HyperX Pulsefire Haste 2 hit stores in April, with a suggested retail price of US$59.99 (~R$315) for the wired model, and US$79.99 (~R$420) for the wireless variant. wire. Again, there is no availability and price forecast for Brazil.

HX3D is brand customization program

Concluding its announcements, HyperX presented HX3D, an unprecedented brand customization program that uses HP’s 3D printing technology, which has owned the company since June 2021. According to the company, the project will serve all types of peripherals, including mice, keyboards and headsets, and should also include “other customized products”, which were not detailed.

The first of the special series, the Cozy Cats line, will feature keys that represent kittens in winter, chosen by users through a vote made by the giant, and will be sold for 48 hours in the USA from January 26th — one of the characteristics of these series is limited stock, aiming to make them collectible. Pricing has not been announced, and availability for other markets, such as Brazil, has not been announced.

HyperX highlights how the customizable products will be ecologically correct, as they are produced with reused powdered nylon, and at least in the case of the keys there will be compatibility with keyboards from other manufacturers. The project also has bigger ambitions, and should have products present at events and championships, and be expanded so that collaborations are established in the future.

Among the types of collaborations the brand hopes to undertake are partnerships with HyperX ambassadors, artists, celebrities, esports organizations, content creators, digital influencers, in-house creative teams and more.
