Some motorists should seek the problem in themselves

The actions of the “last generation” are by no means to be glorified here. But to blame the ambulance chaos that broke out in Berlin on Monday solely on the activists would completely miss reality.

The climate stickers were certainly responsible for the traffic jam on the A100. And that’s an absolutely understandable annoyance for many people. The ambulance chaos had two other main reasons.

On the one hand, there is the generally prevailing emergency of ambulances. There are simply too few of them in Berlin – a problem that has not just been known about yesterday. For the Berlin fire brigade, the state of emergency has now become normal. So instead of putting forward the climate sticker that too few ambulances were in use, it would be better to think about how the problem of the permanent state of emergency can be solved.

And then there are the drivers on the streets of Berlin. The apparent inability of some of them to form a proper rescue lane is appalling and certainly not the activists’ fault. Because drivers must be able to form an emergency lane, regardless of who is causing the traffic jam. After all, in the event of a traffic accident, the injured persons are not to blame if the paramedics are stuck in a traffic jam.

The same applies to climate stickers. You can be accused of many things – and certainly justified. But you really can’t blame them for the incompetence of some drivers. Drivers should rather complain less and take their own noses. Because the activists are not the only problem on the streets of Berlin.
