While fleeing from the police, a previously unknown person drove his car into a ditch and then fled on foot. As the Berlin police announced on Monday morning, a witness initially observed how the man or woman in Hundsteinweg in the Berlin district of Mariendorf (Tempelhof-Schöneberg) tampered with a car and drove away.
Officials then took up the pursuit. On the B96a in Schönefeld (Dahme-Spreewald), the unknown drove into a ditch at high speed and then fled on foot. The car turned out to be stolen. A helicopter was also used in the search by the Berlin and Brandenburg police. The investigation is ongoing. (dpa)
