During an interview with the Sky Sports channel, Chelsea attacking midfielder Kai Havertz (23 years old, 29 games and 7 goals in the Premier League this season) returned to the very delicate season of the Blues, identifying in particular a negative trigger: the eviction of Thomas Tuchel against all odds in September.
“Anything that can go wrong has gone wrong for us this year. (…) We had the change of ownership which was also a big, big step for the whole club. Then Thomas Tuchel was dismissed relatively early in season. It always does something to a team when you’ve had success with the manager, but then he’s fired pretty quickly. And it came out of nowhere,” said the German, one of the few London players to perform well this season.
