In the course of an initially verbal argument between two groups of people at the Coburg Spring Festival on Saturday evening (April 29, 2023), a previously unknown person hit a 16-year-old with a beer mug on the head. The Coburg criminal police are looking for witnesses.

The course of events is described in a press release from the police headquarters in Upper Franconia: At around 10:30 p.m., the report about a dispute in the marquee of the Spring Festival on the Anger was received.

A group of five young people is said to have gotten into a verbal argument with three other previously unknown men. According to initial findings, one of the unknown perpetrators hit a beer mug against the head of a 16-year-old, whereupon the young person fell to the ground.

Another man from the group of three then hit the 16-year-old, but was held back by a witness. The three men then fled the marquee.

The youth suffered minor injuries and was taken to a hospital for further treatment. A search for the three men has so far been negative.

Perpetrators flee: This is how they are described

There is a vague personal description of two of the unknown persons: One of the men is said to have had 170 centimeters tall and blonde, curly hair. The second is described as 180 centimeters tall with wavy hair. There is no description of the third unknown.

The Coburg criminal police is asking for witnesses. Anyone who observed the altercation on Saturday evening or who can provide relevant information is asked to contact the Coburg police department on 09561/645-0.
