The neighborhood of the 66 and 31 area was shocked this afternoon by the death of a neighbor in that area.

According to testimonies from witnesses and official information, a 56-year-old man shot himself with a revolver at chest level, in the middle of a public thoroughfare.

According to the details, the victim was identified as Claudio Omar Turenne, a retired Buenos Aires Police Commissioner.

At the scene, the police found the Glok brand weapon and the served shell of the shot.

The neighbors were the ones who, after hearing the detonation, went outside to see what was happening and found the terrible scene.

The area full of patrol cars and an ambulance transferred him (unconscious) to the San Juan de Dios Hospital where it was finally confirmed that he died.

Regarding Turenne, the neighbors said that “everyone had known him for years. It was known that he was ill, but the news shocked us.” They added that he was going through “a picture of depression. And that he recently came out of an operation from which he never recovered.”
