ANDhe Competition Committee maintains the closure of the Espanyol stadium for two games and 25,000 euro fine for the incidents that occurred in the match against Barcelona.
The club appealed the decision to close its field for two parties due to the invasion of fans at the end of the match between the Perico team and the Catalan team in which the latter was proclaimed League champion. However, the Committee has upheld the sanction.
In its resolution it states the following:
This Competition Committee does not question the efforts that the club on file has been deploying to try to eradicate events such as those at the origin of this file. However, neither can it evade the application of the regulations to which it is bound. These measures, in view of the repeated files to which RCD Espanyol de Barcelona, SAD, has been subjected, only this season, are neither effective nor sufficient. Similar events have been repeated, and aggravated, throughout it.
Espanyol has a term of ten business days to file an appeal with the Appeals Committee.
