After 11 canonical episodes, the Mortal Kombat franchise could well take the path of renewal with what is now called Mortal Kombat 1. If several clues suggest a reboot of the license, certain elements of the past should survive despite this new departure.

Schwarzenegger back as Conan the Barbarian?

The formalization has not yet taken place, but Ed Boon has already started the teaser last week. The machine now engaged, speculation is rife as to what the content of this new game will look like.

We won’t take many risks in saying that the most iconic characters of the series will certainly be present. Instead, let’s focus on Jez Corden’s recent statements during the latest issue of “The Xbox Two” podcast.

After having previously mentioned the possible additions of Peacemaker and Protector via DLC, the Windows Central journalist this time spoke of Conan the Barbarian, explaining that this name had come back to him several times lately.

He admits, however, that he does not know if it is the Conan the Barbarian of the comic strip or the one interpreted by Arnold Schwarzenegger in the two eponymous films of the 80s. In this context, the man recommends only one thing, to take everything this with the usual tweezers.

If it is still too early to know what it is all about, the former Governor could potentially become a regular in the franchise, fans having not forgotten his time in MK 11 and his character from the Terminator model T-800.

As a reminder, Mortal Kombat 1 would only be planned for Xbox Series X | S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch and PC.
