The Congress of Peru approved a denial motion to the “constant and unacceptable acts of interference” by the presidents of Mexico and Colombia, Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador Y Gustavo Petroin the internal affairs of the Andean country.

During the session on Wednesday, the Peruvian congressmen approved Motion 5022 with 61 votes in favor, 41 against and five abstentions, in which the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of that country is urged to give an account of the urge through the channels diplomats both to Mexico like Colombia.

“The Congress of the Republic agrees: first, to express its rejection of the constant and unacceptable acts of interference in matters that are within the internal jurisdiction of Peru by Mr. Andrés Manuel López Obrador, president of the United Mexican States, which constitute a violation of international law to the detriment of the Republic of Peru”, indicates the motion read by deputy María del Carmen Alva Prieto, president of the Foreign Relations Commission.

In recent days, both López Obrador and Petro had signed a document in support of the ousted president of Peru, Pedro Castillo. The letter also had the support of the leaders of Argentina Y bolivian, Alberto Fernandez Y Luis Arce.

The motion of the Congress of Peru was also extended to the president of Colombia in the same terms as in the case of López Obrador, although Alva Prieto considered that it would also have to be extended to the presidents of Argentina and Bolivia.

“These four gentlemen, violating the principle of non-interference in the internal affairs of another state and with clearly undemocratic conduct in the region, are seeking through their public statements to generate confusion in the international community with the sole objective of achieving the release of Mr. Castillo to once again assume the Presidency of the Republic, which is totally unacceptable,” said Alva.

Since last December 15, the Foreign Relations Commission proposed this motion, which was approved today.
