On Christmas Eve, a time to celebrate, gather with family and loved ones, sing Christmas carols, pray the novena, and eat custard and donuts, the mayor of Medellín, daniel quinterohe wanted to send a message with a double meaning to his detractors, in which, far from wanting to send good wishes, he was sarcastic, he sought to “get even” for all the confrontations he had during this hectic year for him:
“Merry Christmas to those who tried to revoke us, remove us and paper us over; to those who opposed the city, they made force so that Hidroituango did not catch fire and they suffered every positive news from Medellín. May next year be the same as this one”, wrote the mayor of the capital of Antioquia.
Immediately, his trill caused different reactions on social networks. “Rat mythomaniac corrupt nepotist trickster vagabond… and the postcard eating tortilla in a stratum 2 apartment to the chalet in the town… how is it explained??? Please… I await an answer Dr Pinturita”, wrote a user in response.
“I have never seen someone take such delight in hate as Daniel Quintero. This is not the mood even of petrism. It’s a sick and dangerous thing. And it is the result that his life is very bitter, without love, do not project his incapacity anymore. ”, Wrote another.
The mayor was referring in his trill to the campaign to revoke him from the city Administration, which was not successful, and which ended up being buried on November 22 by the Registrar’s Office when it determined that the organizing committee had exceeded the funding limits . He also referred to the crisis of hydroituangofor which EPM he was about to have to pay a million-dollar fine, and a reason that earned Quintero multiple criticisms from his opponents.
Regarding this last episode, there were many doubts about whether the megaproject could have come into operation before last December 15, something that it finally achieved and that Daniel Quintero celebrated on his social networks.
“As we promised, we moved Hidroituango forward. From this moment on, it ceases to be a project and becomes the Ituango Hydroelectric Power Plant, which will generate energy for the entire country,” the president wrote after turbines 1 and 2 of the hydroelectric plant came on.
It is worth mentioning that shortly after having published his trill acid against his opponents, Quintero Calle published another in which he appears with his family with a short and simple message: “Merry Christmas we wish you from the bottom of our hearts.”
Previously, on December 22, Quintero published another trill, in which he said that he was going to deliver a pig in each neighborhood of the city through the community action boards, something that also earned him a lot of criticism.
It only took a few minutes for social networks to be filled with messages against Quintero for promoting this initiative that, in the opinion of animal councilors, mistreats pigs.
“Mayor, this message is totally contrary to the animal agenda that we have defended. The symbol of a “pig” at Christmas is synonymous with animal abuse and we have had to fight long struggles to discourage these practices. There are thousands of different ways to eliminate hunger”, questioned the councilor of that city, Juan Jimenez Lara.
Likewise, the uribista councilor sebastian lopez branded as “populist” the initiative and left a harsh attack on Mayor Quintero: “I see the Medellín Mayor’s Office doing politics in the lowest way. They have just finished delivering 50,000 sancochos with their mayoral candidate and they want to distribute 400 pigs”, expressed the lobbyist of the Democratic Center.
