Cooling centers in Connecticut during extreme heat

In Hartford, Connecticut, cooling centers have been set up for those looking for a place to cool off.

The City set up eleven cooling centers, libraries and other locations such as senior centers to beat the heat this weekend. High temperatures can be dangerous to health, especially for the elderly and young children.

Jessica Forquet, Acting Deputy City Manager for the City of Hartford, asks “the community to look out for their loved ones, especially children under the age of 2 and those 65 and older.”

Cooling centers will be available for the rest of the week until July 30 at 8 am due to a heat stroke in the Northeast. While here families can also enjoy family activities.
